Meet Anoushka Fernandes

Anoushka founded Marcelino Marise Solutions in Edmonton, Canada in 2023.

 

With over twenty-five years of professional experience in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, Anoushka has been recognized for her ability to successfully transform teams from good to great; and to provide calm and steady leadership in the face of chaotic situations. 

 

Anoushka has worked with multi-disciplinary teams across different sectors to successfully navigate periods of major organizational change and growth, and to build trusting relationships which proactively resolve potential points of conflict.

Bridging the personal and the professional, Anoushka is a passionate advocate for increased dementia awareness in workplaces and the larger community.  Following her family’s experience in caring for her late mother, she created TheSoggySandwich.ca to support dementia caregivers and those who have experienced dementia-related loss.  She weaves this experience into her succession planning services to help prepare companies for the evolving needs and challenges of Sandwich Generation employees.

Organizational Governance

The lack of documented policies was identified as the root case of a major conflict between a Community League's Board of Directors and one of its Committees. By using a collaborative and consultative approach, we developed a formal governance model to clarify roles and responsibilities for Board members, Committee volunteers, and paid League staff.

Change Management

Change is the new constant.  During the inaugural Collective Bargaining process for a non-profit sector client, we designed a structured change management approach that proactively addressed forthcoming changes and ensured that people continued to be placed first.  The result was a successful cultural transition with a minimum of staff anxiety and almost no conflict with management.

Project Management

A provincial government was keen to modernize its network of diverse contact centres, which were independently managed and used different technology platforms. We worked with front-line staff, program managers, and executive sponsors to successfully transform nearly 50 independent operations to a single telephony and case management platform across the enterprise with no downtime for clients.

Leadership Consulting

Too often, the excitement of a promotion is accompanied by the anxiety of not knowing what to do next!  Over the years, we have been fortunate to be part the leadership development journey for front-line supervisors through to C-Suite Executives.  Our approach for individual clients and leadership cohorts alike is grounded in the principles of self-awareness, leading by example, and ensuring accountability with compassion.
